#WritingWednesday: A #NaNoWriMo report in which I am actually writing

WIP WednesdaySoooooo. hello.  It’s been awhile since I posted anything but a book review or a cover reveal. I am definitely not a regular writer, one of those people that writes no matter what. I write when I can get down more than a palatable sentence, followed by other sentences that don’t suck. I’m really neurotic about my work so if I don’t think it’s good, it’s never seeing the light of day. So, that’s where I have been. Not writing, because everything sucks.

But now it is November and it is National Novel Writing Month and I am actually writing. And I’m not saying things don’t suck, but I just don’t have time to worry about it, this month. That’s kind of what I enjoy about NaNo. There is NO TIME for that inner editor chick, so she’s tied up in the basement with a sock in her mouth. Sometimes. Because. I actually can’t help but edit. But not during my writing time.

I am at around 3600 words, which is 1667 words behind where I should be. I am #unbothered by this. I am planning on some long sprints this weekend and I’ll try to get ahead. No one has failed NaNo until they’ve hit Nov 30th with fewer than 50K words. Until then you’re still in the game!

I toyed with sharing an excerpt. As I’m typing this, I’m still not sure if I will. I sort of want to hold it close to my chest and not let it out because if I don’t finish it, it’ll be embarrassing to have this snippet out here.

**two hours later***

Fine. Here’s an excerpt. Untitled. Subject to change or deletion. Kinda edited.
